About this event

  • 1 hour

This event is part of the London Festival of Architecture 2024. Somewhere to play, to kick a ball around. But also something more. What should a park/open space be looking to do in the 21st century to boost peoples physical and mental health but also to help tackle Climate change, biodiversity depletion, food security and deliver what local residents want – all in a climate of austerity and declining resources for their maintenance and upkeep.

Cherry Tree Wood – over the past five years we have begun to rethink and reimagine how the space might change and adapt over time. It’s an evolving idea. This one-hour walk and exploration will look at this small slice of remnant ancient woodland in North London. We want to look at what has already happened and then to reimagine what its future could hold. Attendees will be expected to bring your own ideas for change as well as think about what has already been done.

We will meet by the High Road entrance to the Wood which is directly opposite the High Road entrance/exit to East Finchley Underground station
