Rehabilitation and Function after Trauma (RAFT) Ireland

Welcome to RAFT Ireland. RAFT is a short course that was originally developed by the London Trauma School for clinicians working with trauma patients in a Major Trauma Centre (MTC), Trauma Unit (TU) or community setting. With the development of Ireland’s Major Trauma Network and the designation of the central network and southern network Major Trauma Centres by the Minister for Health in April 2023 we have developed a course specific to the developing Irish network.

Join us for two days filled with interactive sessions and networking opportunities for HSCPs working in Major Trauma. Our event will take place in person in The Pillar Centre for Transformative Healthcare which is located in the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital. Learn from experts in the field of major trauma rehabilitation and connect with like-minded professionals. Leading national and international speakers within the realm of spinal trauma, neuro trauma, frailty trauma, thoracic trauma and polytrauma will be presenting across the two days. Don’t miss this opportunity to expand your knowledge and enhance your skills in the area of trauma rehabilitation across the entire patient journey. This is an opportunity to learn more about Ireland’s developing Major Trauma System and the pathways associated with it throughout the entire rehabilitation journey.

We will be running a poster presentation competition over the two days with top prize and runner up prizes on offer. Abstracts of up to 400 words for posters will need to be submitted by the 31st May 2024. We will alert the successful submissions by the 7th June 2024.

Abstracts are open to all service development projects and research within trauma rehabilitation. A submission link will be released on Twitter in the coming days.
