NEOMED is offering Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) training designed specifically for primary care providers. Hybrid course (8 hours on-site, 4 hours online follow-up training) provides 12 hours of CME.

Open to primary care medical educators, and practicing primary care physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and resident physicians. Primary care providers are frequently the first line care for many patients with opioid use disorders.

The Institute of Medicine has recommended health professions education and training programs should provide educational opportunities in pain assessment in primary care.

The training WILL FULFILL THE DEA REQUIREMENT FOR YOUR LICENSURE.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the training to administer MAT?

No. The federal government waived the requirement in 2023 but it is now fulfills the requirement to administer Schedule 2-6 drugs for new providers as well as for licensure renewal.

How do I access the online portion of the training?

Is lunch provided?

Yes. Lunch is provides as well as coffee and light snacks throughout the day.

Where do I park?

Park in any of the visitor parking lots located in front of the NEOMED Education and Wellness Center (NEW Center). You can enter the NEW Center via the front doorways under the overhang. Use the stairs or elevator to your immediate right to access Olson Hall.

Will CME be offered?

Yes. Up to 12 hours of CME will be provided about 6 weeks after the completion of the online portion of the training.
