We would like to cordially invite you to the Policy Event "Joining forces for better rare disease diagnosis", organised by the Rare Disease Diagnosis Alliance (RADDIAL). This alliance, an initiative of Takeda, Janssen, Sanofi, Chiesi and Alnylam, was founded in 2022 with the aim of initiating a broad dialogue on how to improve rare disease policy in Belgium.
Central to this event is the question of how the diagnostic pathway for rare disease patients can be accelerated and optimised in Belgium. The talks will be based on the Memorandum developed by RADDIAL in close cooperation with experts from relevant fields and patient associations during several roundtable discussions. This Memorandum will also be officially published during the event.
The event includes three panel discussions in which patients (representatives), experts and policymakers will discuss (1) how to improve access, awareness and public support for neonatal and genetic screening, (2) how to promote knowledge and awareness of rare diseases in higher education and among healthcare providers, and (3) how to encourage more collaboration between healthcare providers and experts, with a view to creating an integrated care pathway.
