About this event

Our vast ocean is the ecosystem most affected by climate change, but is Plastic or Carbon the biggest threat to our world's oceans?

In the last 200 years, the oceans have absorbed a third of the CO produced by human activities and it is estimated that in 2010 alone, 8 million metric tons of plastic waste entered the marine environment.

But even though the challenge of addressing carbon and plastic in our oceans seems immense, solutions are possible to secure a living ocean for a healthy global climate.

During this event, hosted at the National Oceanography Centre (NOC), research facility in Liverpool, our team alongside the NOC, look to educate businesses on the ocean crisis, as well as explore resource efficiency and carbon initiatives that can help reduce the level of plastic pollution and carbon in our seas!

The agenda:

  • 11.00 (30 minutes) - Introduction from Joanne Williams, the National Oceanography Centre.
  • 11.30 (15 minutes) - Refreshment break
  • 11.45 (45 minutes) - Resource Efficiency and reducing plastic pollution in our oceans.
