About this event

Learn methods for deeply observing a site and the natural processes happening there in order to plan wisely and save effort.

Permaculture is a set of design tools that can help to reintegrate humans into natural eco-systems so that we can make life easier for ourselves and care for the planet at the same time.

  • Learn some basics of permaculture design
  • Take part in the process of surveying a site for a potential vegetable garden.
  • Learn how to carry out soil tests.
  • Participate in the creation of a permaculture design for a new vegetable garden.

Tea and coffee will be provided. Please bring a packed lunch. Please bring warm, waterproof clothes and shoes and work gloves.

Sliding scale is to accommodate people on lower incomes. Please pay what you can afford to help balance out costs.

About the facilitator

Siobhán is a qualified horticulturist and educator who has been growing food for 13 years and teaching permaculture and related topics for 6 years. She has completed a Permaculture Design Certificate and is a co-founder of Coole Eco Community.

She is passionate about applying permaculture to every aspect of her life so as to live in a way that causes no harm to any of the beings we share the planet with.
