About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

The rush of parenthood doesn't leave much time for processing your assisted conception journey. Perhaps you still feel a part of the infertility tribe but do not want to take up the space of those still battling to have a baby. Perhaps you feel that you should just be 'grateful' (even when you realise that you went to a birthday party with poo smeared down your top and yoghurt in your hair).

The trials of infertility and assisted conception can echo long into pregnancy and parenthood in the form of anxiety, shame and sometimes loneliness. You are not alone. Facilitated by Bex Fédia, hypnobirthing teacher and doula, who herself struggled through her own infertility journey, this group provides a safe, informal space for parents post IVF (or IUI, ICSI, donor insemination and other forms of assisted conception) where you can have a cup of tea and a moan with other parents who understand your journey and the effect that this can have on your experience of being a parent.

What you'll get...

An informal monthly meet up, a bunch of new friends, loads of empathy and a general sense of camaraderie. Dress code strictly shabby post-bedtime parent - crayon on face and tomato-smeared t-shirts highly encouraged.

*Please note that whilst group members are responsible for their own participation and the group is peer led, as Bex holds the space (and the Zoom invite!), attendees are required to agree to a set of peer-group rules before attendance to keep everybody safe.

When?

The 1st Thursday of every month, online, 7 - 8.30pm. Join when you can (late joining due to kids throwing beans up the wall/general exhaustion/flooded bathrooms post-toddler stuffing-loo-roll-in-the-plughole permitted).
