Do you need to update your moving and handling training? Do you need your training to be specific to paediatrics? Then this is the study day for you to update your skills and knowledge.
The course will review current legislation and evidence based best practice. There will be consideration to moving and handling risks related to handling children with complex needs.
It will include a strong practical element on how to use moving and handling equipment for general transfers, but will also include how the equipment can be used to build rehabilitation goals.
You will be given the opportunity to problem solve low level working, manual lifting and transfer techniques, proning on a wedge, repositioning on a side lyer, choice and different styles of slings for improved postural management and pressure relief and much more.
You will be given the opportunity to use the Guldmann trainer unit, an innovative hoisting system that allows therapists to work their clients in a range of different activities.
The course will be supported with real life case studies from the trainer’s own extensive practice and experience.
Delegates will receive a certificate of attendance and access to relevant resources.
