Open Farm Sunday is an annual open day giving the public the opportunity to learn more about farming and the countryside. This year's theme is 'Farming with Nature', where farmers will be showcasing how farming can help wildlife and biodiversity.
The Allerton Project is a 320 hectare demonstration farm based in Leicestershire. We research the effects of different farming methods on wildlife and the environment and share our results through advisory and educational activities. During our Open Farm Sunday you will be able to find out more about our 30 years of research into sustainable farming methods, biodiversity and rural landscape management. There will be an array of arable machinery on show as well as informative stalls on bees, worms, hedgerows and more! We will also be running a number of activities great for children including tractor/trailer rides, meet the animals, grow your own food plus many more.
Food will be available on site, catered by the local Launde Farm Foods. Other refreshments will also be available - please bring cash if you can.
Our address is: Allerton Project Visitor Centre, Main Street, Loddington, Leicester, LE7 9XE. What3words: ///creeps.happen.parsnip.
Please follow the signs for parking and bring weather appropriate clothing, suncream etc.
We can't wait to see you there!
