About this event

Once a part of the Forest of Arden, the wood used to be coppiced in a traditional manner and volunteers now carry on the tradition. There are lots of grand oak trees and silver birch plus some ash and beech alongside. Visitors in May will enjoy the spectacular blanket of bluebells dotted with delicate wood anemone, yellow pimpernel and common dog-violet. The soils here are acidic, sandy and clay which suits wood sage, foxglove and bracken.

Families will enjoy the Crackley Family Adventure. There are 8 posts to look out for with a different brass rubbing disc on each.

Join Jon Holmes volunteer work part team leader for over 20 years, for a guided walk around this beautiful area, where you can learn about the Wood and the flora and fauna that can be seen there.

Meet at the first parking area from Kenilworth adjacent to the wood.

This event is wheelchair friendly with a hard surface path when accessed from above parking area or the greenway.
