Yes, you can book to stay on Friday and Saturday night with breakfast provided for £40 for the 2 nights. We cannot accept single night bookings.

How do I get to Grenville House

Can I park at the venue?

Parking is very limited at Grenville House, however there is a longstay pay and display car parking near by at the Breakwater Carpark on Berryhead Road, a short walk from Grenville House, and some limited on-road parking is available near by also.

Where is the nearest train station?

The nearest train station is Paignton train station, from there you can get the number 12 bus or taxi from just outside the station. This is about 5 miles and a 30 minute bus journey or £15 taxi.

Can I book accommodation at Grenville House?

There is shared dormitory accommodation with Breakfast available at Grenville House for £40 for the 2 nights (Friday and Saturday). You can book accommodation when booking your ticket for the symposium using the add on feature. Please let us know of any dietary requirements or allergies.

What equipment will I need for practical workshops?

You will need a full length winter wetsuit, buoyancy aid, helmet and practical footwear for coasteering. You may also wish to bring some personal safety equipment such as a throwline and safety bag, however each trainer leading the workshops will have group safety kit

What are promo codes and how do I use them?

If you are a Company member you are entitled to 3 x free general admission tickets. You should have received an email about this with the promo code. We cross reference any tickets bought with the promo code to ensure they are correctly used.

About the venue

Built in 1859, Grenville House started life as the ‘British Seaman’s Boys’ Home’; A charity founded by William Gibbs ran as an orphanage. After 120 years social changes saw the need for this purpose diminish, leading to its temporary closure in 1988. Two years later it re-opened as the Nautical

No. There are no self catering facilities at the venue, however for just £40 you can have 2 days bed and breakfast and there are numerous restaurants and takeaways a short walk away in Brixham town centre.
