One of Ireland’s most celebrated singers and RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Singer of the Year 2022 Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh brings a star studded line-up to Wexford in advance of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann. Joining her will be leading producer & Oriel musician Dónal O'Connor on fiddle & keyboards, Ireland's premier traditional harper & composer Michael Rooney from Monaghan, legendary Dublin uilleann piper Mick O'Brien and some very special guests.

Featuring a selection of Ireland's most loved Sean Nós songs from her recent release Róisín ReImagined with the Irish Chamber Orchestra, heartbreakingly beautiful songs in English, top drawer instrumental traditional music and, of course, the cultural rhythms and creative energy of West Kerry, this promises to be a highlight in the traditional music calendar for 2024 and the perfect apéritif in advance of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann coming to Wexford Town.

Muireann is an award-winning traditional singer and musician from Corca Dhuibhne, Co.Kerry. A leading exponent of the sean nós style, her repertoire also includes songs from a wide variety of folk and contemporary sources. She has enjoyed a successful career as a touring artist, with over thirteen years’ experience as lead singer and flute player with the group Danú, as well as a many years performing as a solo artist. In 2022 Muireann was awarded “Best Folk Singer” at the RTÉ Radio Folk Awards, and amongst many other awards, was Amhránaí na Bliana at the TG4 Gradam Ceoil in 2011.

Muireann is also a popular television and radio presenter, having hosted a range of programmes for Irish and Scottish TV and Radio over the past 15 years, and currently presents her own music programme “Folk on One” on RTÉ Radio 1.
