Come along and join us for a morning of creativity, crafting, and plenty of fun at the Bannville Hotel, Banbridge, starting at 11 am on Saturday, May 10th. This is one of four workshops taking place across Northern Ireland, led by ArtCare on our behalf.
In this workshop, we will be exploring wet felting techniques, and the creations from all four sessions will be brought together and displayed at our newly renovated Belfast Resource Centre, which will be reopening soon.
Our workshop leaders, ArtCare, are a renowned regional organisation in Northern Ireland dedicated to the arts, health, and well-being, making this a great opportunity to explore your creativity while contributing to a collective project.
Felting is a wonderful and therapeutic activity that offers numerous benefits. Here’s a breakdown of the key benefits:
- Creativity and Expression: Felting is a fantastic outlet for creativity, as it allows individuals to bring their ideas to life through hands-on creation. This form of crafting encourages self-expression, enabling people to explore their artistic side, which can lead to a deeper understanding of themselves.
- Self-Reflection: The meditative process of felting helps individuals slow down and focus, providing space for personal reflection. As people work with wool and fibers, they may find themselves reflecting on their emotions, thoughts, and experiences, offering a moment of introspection and mindfulness.
- Social Connection: Felting is often done in groups or as part of a community event. This promotes social interaction and helps build connections with others who share a common interest. Collaborative felting projects can strengthen bonds and create a sense of belonging.
- Emotional Healing: The repetitive nature of felting can be incredibly soothing, promoting emotional well-being. Engaging in the tactile process of felting can help reduce stress, anxiety, and even aid in emotional healing, providing a sense of accomplishment and peace.
- Skill Development: Felting involves a variety of techniques and skills, such as needle felting, wet felting, and sculpting. Through the process, individuals gain valuable crafting skills, which can boost self-confidence and open doors to other creative endeavors.
Overall, felting can be a rewarding and enriching experience that nurtures creativity, personal growth, and emotional well-being.
This workshop is suitable for adult and children living with MS or a family member with MS. Light refreshments will be provided on the day.
We hope to see you there!
