You've heard of Sip 'n' Paint...well this is Craft 'n' Chill : )

That's the vibe at these relaxing mindful craft session where each month you get to explore the mood-boosting pleasures of crafting.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Every month the activity is different but whatever it is, you'll get to experience the therapeutic power of creativity while embraking on a transformative journey of relaxation as you put down your phone and take a break from your to-do list to make way for some creative ‘me time’ that will nourish your mind and soul.

Techniques could include anything from painting and collage to mindful sewing and embroidery to origami and papercrafts, it's usually kept underwraps, a surprise until you get there, but we can reveal that....

JULY is our 1st birthday and they'll be a few different activities that day!

All art and crafts materials will be provided, and no prior artistic experience is necessary.


WHY COME ALONG?

Engaging in creative activities has been proven to reduce stress levels and is super fun. These sessions offer a serene environment hat allow you to tune out distractions and find solace in the present moment. Feel any worries melt away as you immerse yourself in the joy of crafts.


Creating something beautiful with your own hands is immensely gratifying and

you’ll also experience a sense of achievement and fulfilment as you witness your

vision come to life – take home your masterpiece as a reminder of your creative abilities.


WHO'S RUNNING THE SESSION?

These sessions are led by Colour Therapist, Crafts Expert and Museum of Happiness Facilitator Momtaz Begum-Hossain. She'll guide through different ideas to

inspire your creativity.


WHERE DO SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?

Come hungry! The venue Well Bean Co, a vegan community cafe overlooking the Royal Docks waterfront in East London and you'll be able to purchase food and drinks that you can consume before, or during the session.

The nearest public transport is the DLR station Gallion's Reach.


WHEN DO SESSION TAKE PLACE?
These sessions are scheduled to take place on the last Sunday of the month, 4-6pm throughout 2024, but there may be some months there are changes so please check to see when events are listed and book before you come : )

Please aim to arrive on time so the session can start promptly - they aren't drop in, it's recommended you stay the full two hours to fully immerse yourself in the mindful nature of making.


WHERE IS MY TICKET DONATION GOING?

These sessions are donation-based and your full ticket price will be donated to the charity CALM (https://www.thecalmzone.net/) who focus on mental health and suicide prevention. These sessions are for adults and those aged 16+.

Frequently asked questions

What crafts will I be making?

Each month the activity and technique is different! The exact thing you'll be making won't be revealed until you attend the event, however it will be something you can take home and keep. It's worth bringing a bag to transport it home : )

I've never crafted before, should I still come?

YES! No creative skills or previous experience is needed. Just enthusiasm and an interest to try. And if you're already a lover of crafts, you'll have a chance to indulge in your passion with friendly people rather than crafting at home which can get boring : )

Do I need to bring anything?

NO! All materials that you'll need for the activity will be provided. But you might want to bring a bag to take your handmade masterpiece home in : )
