Co-Arting sessions will be held on Thursday nights at 7PM - 8PM EST on Zoom.

We will email you a Zoom link on the day.

Guidelines:

Video can be on or off at your preference. Please remain muted unless you would like to speak.

I’ll offer a prompt, but feel free to work on anything you’d like to.

They’ll be a quick check in, depending on the number of people in attendance, we can introduce ourselves quickly.

Then they’ll be about 30-40 minutes of working. Feel free to pipe up during this time if you’d like to talk about your process, ask questions about materials or techniques, or connect with the group about art-making in whatever way. Please stay on the topic of art-making.

After 40 minutes of working, we’ll have a short time to share the work. There is no pressure to share, but please do if you’re feeling it.

This is an inclusive group organized around the healing aspects of art-making. There will be absolutely zero tolerance for any personal attacks, threats, spamming, misrepresentations of oneself or others, illegal material, profanity, hate speech, disparaging assertions about a person’s character, discrimination based on a person’s identity or occupation, and calls for violence against any people. Anyone engaging in any of these will be banned from the group.

Mad in America’s mission is to serve as a catalyst for rethinking psychiatric care in the United States (and abroad). We believe that the current drug-based paradigm of care has failed our society, and that scientific research, as well as the lived experience of those who have been diagnosed with a psychiatric disorder, calls for profound change.
