Keynoye Speakers

We have some fantastic keynote speakers lined up, including Professor Simon Gay, a GP active in both undergraduate and postgraduate healthcare education, Professor of Medical Education (Primary Care) and Head of School at Leicester School of Medicine. His research interests include clinical reasoning, reflection, and the transition to qualified practice. Simon has contributed to more than 60 clinical reasoning related academic outputs including peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, key-note presentations and workshops and will be delivering his talk Clinical reasoning and the management of uncertainty? – Now I’m not so sure!!! Simon will also be running a workshop on Clinical Reasoning on the day.

We also have the fabulous Dr Evelyn Mensah who will speak about Systemic Racism in HealthCare and Education - Say It! See It! Sort It! Evie is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Workforce and Race Equality Standards (WRES) Expert at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust is part of the London and Medical WRES Strategy Groups. She holds position of EDI Chair at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. Evie leads anti-racism initiatives globally, aiming for equitable healthcare. She champions institutional courage and a winner of multiple awards.

Joining them is Director and Specialist Dietitian Sophie Medlin, a well recognised colorectal dietitian with 17 years experience in her field. Sophie runs her private practice, CityDietitians which gives the public access to highly specialist dietitians. Sophie has been tackling misinformation on social media for over a decade and lectures on the topic around the country, and will be discussing Navigating medicine in the world of social media.
