Welcome to the Introduction to Creative Writing Course!

This six-week course introduces you to the art of creative writing, focusing on short story writing and poetry. An additional four-week course will follow later in the year for creative non-fiction.

During the course, participants will learn how to craft stories and poetry that engage readers. You will be asked to reflect on what you enjoy and why you like it as this informs how you write yourself. In every session, you will practice what you learn.

There are two optional assignments to complete, if you want to. The first is a short story and the second is a poem. You can use the knowledge and skills gained through the course to create the best possible writing. Each piece will be assessed and an individual feedback session will be arranged for everyone who submits assignments on time.

The course is delivered on consecutive Friday evenings from 1st April 7 pm - 9 pm at Portesham Village Hall in West Dorset. A maximum of ten participants ensures everyone gets the best possible learning experience.

Your course leader is Linda Parkinson-Hardman, author, writer, publisher, coach and mentor. Linda has written and published extensively and also organises the (almost) annual Hysteria Writing Competition on behalf of Crystal Clear Books.
