International Harmony was formerly the IWCD (International Women’s Club Dublin) choir, founded by IWCD members in the mid 1980’s. Though no longer part of the IWCD, it retains its international membership and focus.

We are an A-Capella women’s choir, rehearsing once a week on Monday mornings during school terms. Our emphasis is on having fun and developing friendships between women of different cultural backgrounds through music making. However, we are always endeavouring to raise the standard at the same time. The repertoire is varied, going through classical and popular, and at choral level from moderate to challenging.

We have taken part in competitions (winning 1st prize in 2005 in the Madrigal competition at the Arklow Music Festival), but mainly we work on producing one or two concerts a year in aid of a chosen charity. Valerie Werner has been our conductor since 1999. Over 70 women from 20 different nationalities have sung in the choir over the years.
