About this event

  • 6 hours 30 minutes

Welcome to the Huer to Harbour Pilchard Run! Lace up your running shoes and join us at the Huer's Hut for this exciting event. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun experience with your family, this run is perfect for all levels of fitness. The picturesque mile long route (extension availble for those wanting a longer challenge) offers stunning views that will keep you motivated until the finish line. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to experience the beauty of Newquay while getting some exercise and enjoying a great time with your friends and family.

Families are invited to take part in the very first Huer to Harbour Pilchard Run. The event will begin at the Huer’s Hut (King Edward Crescent) and participants will be able to run or walk from there through Newquay town centre, onto Towan Beach and then in through the mouth of Newquay Harbour. You are all invited to dress in shiny clothing (or a fish outfit should you have one!) to represent pilchards, highlighting the historical importance that fishing has had to the town of Newquay. Once you arrive at the Harbour, there will be a number of stalls, activities and food outlets for families to enjoy, whilst a choir sings a variety of sea shanties.

All fun run participants will recieve an event t-shirt. All proceeds from the event will be shared between the Trenance PTA and Trenance's 4 House Team charities.
