About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Welcome to the Home Sick Workshop!

Come to the King Edward VII Building for a tea party unlike any other. In the workshop, you will be served tea, coffee and cake and have the opportunity to make a cyanotype print that is yours to keep. The print will show the trace of any crumbs left on your plate, creating a lasting impression of your participation in the workshop.

The space is not step-free access. There is a flight of about 15 steps to reach the room used for the workshop.

Please RSVP with any dietary requirements and I will try my best to accomodate.

This workshop is created for people with experience of caring for another person.

Meet under The Arches at 14:30 on Newcastle University Campus and we will walk to the room in King Edward VII Building together.

Frequently asked questions

I need to RSVP about dietary requirements. I have a question.

Please contact me on: h.goodall@newcastle.ac.uk

Do I have to give evidence of my caring responsibilities?

No. There is no need to evidence your caring responsibilities. You will not be expected to talk about your experience caring for someone.

Are there allergens in the food & drinks? Is the event suitable for vegans?

The cakes contain allergens. This includes wheat and milk. The cakes are prepared in a home kitchen therefore contamination may occur. Dairy milk will be provided for hot drinks. I am happy to accommodate dietary requirements where possible. Please specify when booking.

Do I need to bring anything? Do I need printmaking experience to participate?

You don't need to bring anything with you. You don't need any prior experience in printmaking to participate.

Im not sure I have experience caring for someone.

I welcome a broad range of care experience, for any length of time, paid or unpaid, formally or informally. This could be as a parent, at work in a healthcare or therapeutic environment, caring for a relative or friend due to illness, disability, addiction or they cannot cope without your support.
