Join us for a Home Education Hike in Wickham Bishops!
Location: St Bartholomew's Church, Church Road, Wickham Bishops, Witham, CM8 3LA
Get ready to explore nature, learn about local wildlife, and enjoy a morning of outdoor education with fellow home educated families. This event is a great opportunity for kids to socialize, exercise, and discover the beauty of the great outdoors.
The circular walk will be roughly 4 miles, taking in some local hidden gems. There will be some fun activity sheets for the children about the landmarks, as well as some tree identification and bug hunting activities for the younger children.
Important Information:
- Bring comfortable walking shoes, some footpaths may be muddy and fields turned, however we do NOT suggest wellingtons because they aren't as supportive as a walking boot or sports shoe.
- Pack a plenty of water and some snacks, there wont be any water stations on route.
- Dress for the weather conditions and bring sun cream.
- Meet at the church car park at 9am - there is plenty of parking here and we have been given permission by the church to park here until 1pm.
- The walk will be roughly 3 hours max! The walk times are never set in stone, as it is pace dependant and how long we spend at certain land marks. It also very much varies on the age of the children attending.
- Recommended age range for this walk is 10+ years due to the distance.
- We MUST stick together.Please do not charge off ahead or get too far behind as we need to stay as a group. If feeling too challenged you will be told to retrace your steps back to the car park. It is important that everyone in our group can walk 4 miles, it is meant to be slightly challenging but FUN!
