Event Description

A workshop to raise awareness of the impact of loss, and related trauma on children and families.

Aims/Objectives

Highlight, discuss and understand the complex needs and emotions at different developmental stages for children experiencing significant loss and change. To have an understanding of different theories that explain the grieving process.

Outcomes

Staff feeling supported in helping their pupils to succeed, achieve resilience and be mentally healthy.

Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all pupils: to have a more secure understanding of how a range of factors can inhibit pupils’ ability to learn, and how best to overcome these.
