What You’ll Create:

Under instruction from a qualified teacher and artist, you will cut and adhere colorful glass pieces to a clear glass base to craft a roughly A4 or A5 sized mosaic, depending on whether you choose the full or half-day course.

There will be a wide variety of templates available, but you can also choose to sketch out your own idea too. Choose your favorite colors and patterns to create something truly personal and eye catching.

What to Expect:

🔮Step-by-Step Guidance: Learn the essentials of cutting pieces of coloured glass to shape using a variety of tools. Design a pattern and then assemble your own glass-on-glass mosaic. Our immersive approach ensures you gain confidence as you learn, and our supportive and skilled instructor will be there to guide you at every step.

🌼 Finishing Options: Craft a piece that fits your own style and imagination. Opt to fill the spaces between the glass pieces with grout during the session, or leave them empty for an alternative look.

🧰 Creative Freedom: Experiment with a very wide variety of colors, shapes, and patterns to design a truly personal piece.

Refreshments are provided throughout the day, but please bring a packed lunch.

Do I need any prior experience in working with glass to attend the workshop?

No prior experience is required! Our workshop is designed for all skill levels, including beginners. Our experienced instructor will guide you through each step, and we have patterns you can make which are suitable for a range of skill levels.

What should I wear to the workshop?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Also, consider bringing an apron or an old shirt to protect your clothes from glass fragments.

What will I learn during the workshop?

You'll learn tile and glass cutting techniques as well as how to adhere your tiles to a glass sheet and grout your work. By the end, you'll have created a stunning mosaic to display in your window or garden.

What materials are provided?

We provide all the necessary materials, including glass, adhesive and grout. We also provide all tools and safety equipment. You'll have access to a variety of glass colors and textures to create your design.

Can I take my finished piece home on the same day?

Absolutely! The aim is to ensure all attendees finish their piece on the day. While we're confident you'll complete the majority of the project during the workshop, some finishing touches might be needed. You'll be provided with guidance on final steps to ensure your piece is ready to display.

Is there an age restriction for the workshop?

Our workshop is suitable for participants aged 16 and above. Younger participants may join if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

How long is the workshop?

The workshop runs from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with time for lunch. This allows you a full day to immerse yourself in the stained glass artistry. Alternatively, you may opt for the half day session which runs from 10:30 - 1:30.

Can I bring my own design, or are there pre-set patterns to choose from?

We provide a range of design options which are suitable for a range of experience levels and are designed to be achievable in the time allotted. You're welcome to bring your own ideas too!

Is lunch provided during the workshop?

Lunch is not provided, but there will be scheduled breaks where you can enjoy your own packed lunch or explore local dining options in the village.
