Sparkbox is pleased to announce the latest UnConference in our four-year webinar series: Embracing the Power of the MVP.

An MVP is sometimes perceived as a shortcut or a constrained version of a great idea. Not so! It’s just the first step on the road to a deeper understanding of the potential of your ideas. Join us to learn how you can bring these strategic practices to your project, and what you should expect from the right partner.

Keynote with Sparkbox president Rob: The context of the MVP can have a huge impact on how you move forward with a new or evolving product. Different context means different risks, different priorities, different goals. Let’s talk about how to navigate these products and learn from the challenges they reveal and the opportunities they create.

Roadmapping with Leah: Every project comes with some natural constraints, from scope to timeframe, and (of course) budget. The idea behind a great MVP is to determine what you can do, and what you can do well. There will be time for enhancement later. Come chat with Experience Design Director Leah Henderson about how you can plan for now and evaluate opportunities in the future.

Managing Scope Creep with Natalie: Nobody knows better than a project manager that scope creep is oh-so real, and it can derail a project before you know it. But this is a challenge you can manage! Our projects director, Natalie Lestini, will walk you through the difference between “creep” and iteration, and how you can handle both within your MVP.

Creating a Technical Foundation with Catherine: When you plan an MVP, you know you need it to be stable and secure in the near term. An MVP may be limited in features, but those features should be built with quality and intention. From a technical standpoint, you also need to prepare for the business to change. What you build today should be flexible enough to enable future growth. One of our technical directors, Catherine Meade, is here to explain how.

We're bringing you all the knowledge of our deeply experienced team, and our hope that you'll walk away with a deeper and more nuanced view of what an MVP can do for you.

Frequently asked questions

Who should attend this session?

Anyone who is scoping or leading a project, whether you're working with an outside partner or managing an internal team.

Isn't an MVP just a way to cut corners?

No, it isn't! But that is a common source of frustration. We'll talk with you about how an MVP is a good first step, not just a way to pare down a great idea.

Does working with an MVP impact only the development team?

Everyone who's working on a project, from strategy to design to development, needs to be singing the same song. We'll cover many angles.

Is this webinar only for Sparkbox clients?

All are welcome. If we can teach you what we know (Sparkbox client or not) we're all in a position to build a better web.

But are you going to sell me something?

No. If you'd like to work with Sparkbox, we'll let you know how to get in touch, but this is not a sales pitch. Promise.
