From 26 October 2022, the Electronic Monitoring project for Acquisitive Crime is expanding to include those serving Standard Determinate Sentences of 90 days or over, from 12 months or over. The Acquisitive Crime project is live in 19 Police Force Areas (PFA) across England & Wales, initially implemented to six PFAs in April 2021, extending to an additional 13 PFAs in September 2021. The change will impact People on Probation who are released to reside in one of the 19 in-scope PFAs from 26 October 2022; all other eligibility criteria remains the same.
The Acquisitive Crime EM conditions are compulsory for those that meet the eligibility criteria and therefore it is vital that Probation are aware of this change and clear on their role as the responsible officers.
This briefing session will cover:
1. An overview of the Acquisitive Crime project
2. What is the change to the cohort?
3. What are Probation's responsibilities?
