This course was created in co-operation with people with lived experience from across North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. This includes clients and professionals.

Duration: 1 Full Day.

The Aim: To ensure that all staff are able to record information correctly and legally. To establish effective communication with all customers.

The Objectives: by the end of the session, you will be able to:

• Explain the importance of legal and legible case notes.

• Explore barriers to communication.

• Identified preferred methods of communication.

• Identified the positives and negatives of both verbal and nonverbal communication.

• Describe some of the common pitfalls when completing notes.

• Illustrate how to overcome any assumptions.

• Illustrate some examples of appalling case notes and some excellent case notes.

• Determine that the client’s voice is heard.

• Express how to create excellent notes.

The training is appropriate for anyone who is dealing directly with children, young people and adults including: Managers, Social Care, Organisational Leaders, Housing Officers, Frontline staff etc

Please note that the car park at the back of The Dudson Centre is reserved for staff parking only. There is a pay and display car park at the Front of The Dudson Centre for visitor parking.

Lunch and refreshments are provided on the day, if you have any special dietary requirements for the day then please let us know of them a full week before the course start date.

Unfortunately, we are only able to provide these training opportunities to people who live or work in the Stoke-on Trent Area.
