About this event

Grange Big Local invites you to imagine a fairier furture for all.

Universal Basic Income (UBI) is a concept where every individual receives a regular, unconditional sum of money from the government or a public institution, regardless of their employment status or income level.

By providing a guaranteed income floor, UBI aims to give people the means to cover essential expenses like food, housing, and healthcare, allowing them to pursue education, entrepreneurship, or other activities that contribute to their well-being and the economy as a whole.

UBI also raises questions about funding, potential disincentives to work, and its impact on existing social welfare programs. As a result, pilot programs like this one proposed in East Finchley, are being conducted to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of implementing UBI on a larger scale.
