About this event

Drypoint is a wonderful print process which uses a transparent plastic plate (an old CD case) to print with which means participants can bring a photo or drawing or I can provide a bunch of inspiration and images. The image can then be placed under the plastic plate and be used as a guide to the mark making process.

Once the plate has been scratched and scraped and generally roughed up a bit we can start getting inky. While the paper soaks to become more flexible we get to pushing the ink into the scratches and removing it from the surface leaving ink where we want it.

The printing takes place on the etching press and there is a wonderful moment where we get to see all of our hard work come to fruition. We can usuall manage a few prints in the workshop.

This workshop is a one colour process as we only have 2 hours to get through quite a lot but it serves as a great intro that is sure to make you fall in love with the process. Oce completed you will have a world of drypoint printmaking to explore.

See you there!
