About this event

  • 2 hours

As a response to this year’s LFA’s theme Reimagine David Chipperfield Architects will host a roundtable discussion on a current London project, the Firoz Lalji Global Hub. The project forms the final set-piece addition to the historic campus of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Critically, the design of the Firoz Lalji Global Hub embraces a radical strategy of adaptive reuse that will see large parts of an existing academic building retained, aiding in ambition to become the LSE's first net zero carbon building. Through the intelligent reinterpretation of the existing building, the new project will become a symbol of the LSE's environmental and social responsibility.

Participants of the roundtable discussion will be:

Maria-Chiara Piccinelli, Associate Director - David Chipperfield Architects

Laura Burley, Architect - David Chipperfield Architects

Alasdair Graham, Director - David Chipperfield Architects

Julian Robinson, Director of Estates - The London School of Economics and Political Science

Lucy Townsend, Director, Head of Sustainability - BDP

Johanna Gibbons, Founding Partner - J&L Gibbons

The event will be at the Harvard Lecture Theatre MAR.2.10, 2nd Floor, LSE The Marshall Building, 44 Lincoln's Inn Fields, London, WC2A 3LY. The roundtable discussion will be followed by a drink reception.
