A crit group ran once a month for curators, artists, and anyone else interested to take part in meaningful dialogue around artist's work, to exchange ideas, and to cultivate networks.

Each month we will visit a different studio group, where three artists will open their studio doors to offer an intimate group crit to talk about their work. A session for interesting, informal conversation, where we will get to know the artists and witness the space where their work is made.

It's not just about offering feedback; it's about fostering connection, understanding, challenging, and appreciation for the approaches and techniques unique to each artist through critical discourse.

Session #1 - Paradise Works, Salford

Anna Clough

Anna mainly makes sculptural work, sometimes kinetic or interactive, and often utilising unexpected forms or found items. She is interested in the emotive landscape of the Northern countryside and the remnants of its industrial history, as well as perceptions of the land and its relationship to the climate crisis. Recent exhibitions include The Muck & the Mire at Paradise Works, a duo show with sculpture Nicole Sheppard, and The Earth Is Warm, a solo exhibition at Air Gallery in Altrincham.

Fleur Yearsley

Fleur makes bright, evocative paintings that are full of fun and joy, and also the melancholy of nostalgia. They are rooted in personal memories, but seek to relate to everyone's sense of memory for times gone by. Recent exhibitions include In The Membrane at Paradise Works and NSFW at Smolensky Gallery.

Naomi Harwin

Naomi works primarily in sculpture and installation, and explores sensory experience and bodily perception through a rigorous interrogation of objects. She is interested in the connection between things in physical space, and often uses process of translation and reworking of forms to explore this. Recent exhibitions include a solo exhibition at HOME's Granada Foundation Gallery Middle Moments, and Bankley Exchanges #1, a 3 person show at Bankley Gallery.
