About this event

  • 1 day 2 hours

Welcome to the Councillor induction from a Clerk’s perspective (Wales) event! 🏴 Join us online to gain insights into the role of a councillor from the unique viewpoint of a clerk.

A comprehensive induction helps new councillors to settle in, to understand their role and expectations, to forge strong relationships with clerks and other officers, and to build competence and confidence in serving their community. This course is suitable for both new Clerks or long standing and for a Council of any size.

These training sessions will help you plan and deliver a formal induction program , perfect for learning how to introduce new councillors who are looking to hit the ground running or for those in need of a refresher.

It will explain the many benefits of the initial investment of your time in offering such support to new councillors. It will also look at ongoing support for councillors following their initial induction, ensuring there is a culture of continuous learning and development.

All proceeds will be donated to the SLCC Educational Trust, a charity which will aim to enable more people working in the sector to access the training and development they need.

Please note this training will be delivered in English only.
Joining instructions and final agenda will be circulated to those who register prior to the event.
