Late Lines is our regular performance evening for City Lit writers, featuring a fantastic mix of poetry and prose readings from our talented students. All are welcome!
The event will be hosted by Maria Thomas and feature special guest Ellen Cranitch.
The event is free but we kindly ask all attendees to make a donation to the City Lit Student Bursary Fund. Suggested donation: £3
Please be aware that the evening may include pieces which discuss adult themes and subjects. Audience members and readers may be photographed for promotional purposes.

If you are studying or have recently studied on a City Lit writing course and would like to share your work at Late Lines in June, we'd love to hear from you. Please contact writing@citylit.ac.uk by Sunday 26 May with a copy of the piece/s you'd like to read on the night. Each reading slot is 3-5 minutes maximum.
All genres, styles, forms and levels of experience are very welcome.
Ellen Cranitch
Ellen Cranitch is a poet, lecturer and journalist. Her debut collection, The Immortalist (Templar Press), was shortlisted for the Seamus Heaney Award for Best First Collection 2018. Her second collection, Crystal, is out now from Bloodaxe. Born in London of Irish parents, Ellen holds an MA in English Literature from Cambridge University and a PhD in Creative Writing (Poetry and Poetics) from the University of St Andrews. She has taught Creative Writing and literature at a number of universities including University College London and Bath Spa. Recent posts include Lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Hull where she ran the poetry modules. Her arts journalism has appeared in The Times, New Statesman and The Irish Times and she contributes poetry reviews and interviews to Poetry London and The Poetry Review. She currently works at the City Lit Institute, London, teaching the Masterclass and Advanced Poetry Workshop.
