About this event

There is a charge of £5 per booking for this course.

This is an introductory workshop raising awareness and building confidence to identify, respond, and prevent child sexual abuse. This workshop is for anyone who works with children predominantly but is also relevant to those who work with adults.

In this workshop we learn just how prevelant child sexual abuse is, and consider the life long impact it has on individuals and on society. We discus ways that we can use our roles and positions in communities to promote safety and prevent child sexual abuse from happening in the first place.

Being an introductory workshop, this leads on to the full day Level 3 Child Sexual Abuse training which is bookable through the Plymouth Safeguarding Children's Partnership website.

The venue is NSPCC Together For Childhood, Brunswick House, Holborn Street, Plymouth, PL4 0NN. We have limited parking onsite - please double park as needed. Entrance is through the car park. Please be aware that to access the training room within the building there are a number of doorways and corridors and it is on the first floor. Lift access is available (different entrance door). Please let us know in advance if you require any assistance or if you feel there is anything additional you would like us to be aware of.

We use a mixture of talking, videos, powerpoint slides (via a screen), handouts, and group discussion. Following the workshop you will be sent the powerpoint slides and attendee pack.

At NSPCC Together for Childhood we strive to be inclusive and welcoming of everyone. We appreciate that this workshop will be impactful as we will be discussing distressing and upsetting issues.
