On 25th of April, Terre des Hommes Netherlands invites you to be part of this global event.
Stopping the exploitation of children is urgent.
160 million children worldwide are being exploited for labour, while one in five girls and one in 13 boys have been victims of sexual exploitation or abuse before reaching the age of 18. Yet, progress is falling behind: In 2021 - the International Year for the Elimination of Child Labour - instances of child labour rose for the first time in two decades.
Through the stories of Rado (12), Tarikwa (16) and Lina (14), we will examine the nature of exploitation and invite you to the discussion on viable solutions for preventing and responding to child exploitation, and who needs to be involved. We will also present our Strategy, co-created thematic programmes and recent research that we have done with children and our valued partners.

Main programme - 10:00AM-12:00PM
- Introducing the problem and Terre des Hommes Netherlands' view on how to address it, our strategy, co-created programmes and recent research.
- How children see the problem through children's stories of the different dimensions of exploitation.
- Interactive panel discussions on what are the viable solutions for preventing and responding to child exploitation, and who needs to be involved?
- Poetry performances.
