The BBC has been broadcasting from Newcastle for over one hundred years. Now it’s also the base of our North East Technology Hub and home to teams from the BBC’s product group, responsible for developing world-beating services like iPlayer, Sounds, Sport and Bitesize.
We'll talk about our plans to grow the BBC's tech presence in region, and you'll hear from members of the product team about their work with:
- Diji Solanke - Using React
- Jonathan Rewcastle - Data in the BBC
- Matthew Tinn & Olivia Moore - Data Ingestion Prototype
This will be followed by a discussion about the impact of LLMs on software development
The event is informal, and will start around 1600 and run through to 1830. Some of us will be moving on to The Cosy Dove on Hunter’s Road to continue the conversation.
