This in-person course is for all supervisors, managers and other professionals working in health and social care services and other relevant organisations who require to make decisions on the reporting of adult protection concerns, which may include giving advice to staff who report concerns and managing situations internally where concerns are raised. This is expected to include supervisors of care at home, day support and residential services as well as allied health professionals and nursing/health staff operating in a variety of settings. It is also suitable for social workers who work in Children's and Justice Services.
In the session, we will talk about:
• the principles and definitions provided by the Act
• local thresholds and reporting pathways
• your role and responsibilities and those of staff who report to you
• how Social Work conduct S.4 inquiries and the use of the investigatory powers, including in Large Scale Investigations
•"undue pressure” and the protection orders
