About this event

Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience, Polowood Shooting Ground welcomes everyone to archery. Our highly trained and qualified staff will give you a full safety briefing and excellent tuition.

Located in the centre of our grounds, our archery accommodates over 15 targets. All our instructors are Archery GB qualified and we have plenty of different games for you to play. Furthermore, we can cater to the needs of anyone of any age.

Polowood Shooting Ground offers you the unique opportunity to test your skills. With a huge range of bows and targets, our experience is the perfect day out!

Frequently asked questions

I have booked but we would like to increase our group size?

We strongly recommend booking for all in advance, our venue plans our day ahead of time to ensure we have correct staffing and instructors available. If an additional persons attends we may not always be able to fit them in we will try our best but please do call us in advance to check.

What happens if it rains?

Unless the weather is very severe, your booking will go ahead as detailed. If the weather is particularly bad and it is unsafe for your event to continue one of our team will contact you as early as possible to let you know. Your deposit would then be transferable to another mutually agreed date.

Can I get to you on public transport?

The easiest way to reach us as we are in a rural location is by car or by Taxi. The local Taxi company is Streamline Taxis Brighton & Hove and can be reached on 01273 20 20 20 or 01273 74 74 74, you can also pick their cars up on the local Taxi Ranks if you are staying in Brighton. What should I wear?

Please dress according to the weather on the day for a countryside pursuit. Wellingtons are recommended on wet days. Hats and sun screen are recommended on sunny days as shade is limited onsite. I have not done this before, will I get Instruction?

All of our activities come with fully trained instructors who will remain with you for the duration of your activity. We also have the safety equipment needed for your activity included in your package.

Can I try another activity or extend the time of my activity on the day?

This does depend on the other groups we have booked in on the day, but if you see another activity you would like to try please ask one of our instructors and we will do our best to fit you in.

Can I bring spectators?

Polowood does allow one or two spectators, although it is much more fun to try the activities. We do advise that children under ten are not brought along to spectate. If you are bringing spectators we do however need to be made aware in advance to ensure we have enough transport when collecting you

Can I bring my dog?

Please do not bring your dog with you to your experience. The gun noises are often upsetting for dogs who are not used to the sound and there is no safe space to hold them whilst you participate.

Do you provide food and drink?

Complimentary tea and coffee is available on site. We also sell a small range of soft drinks and snacks. Including crisps, sweets and cake bars. Due to our location we do not have a lunch venue on site

Can I take photos?

Yes, our team love to see you enjoying your day please just ensure you are doing this safely. We would love you to share these photos to our Facebook, Instagram and Trip Advisor pages!
