Welcome to Academic Glimmers: The Recovering Academic!

Draw on the history of striking against that which does not fulfill the basic requirments of a job and ask questions

Date: Wed May 29, 2024

Time: 14:00-16:00 (British Summer Time)

Location: Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge or Zoom

Either online or in person, each participant will be asked to redact the parts of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, section 26, which they see the academe does not currently fulfil. this is sitting with the trouble of academia at its most poignant, and holding space to exist here and now, for colleagues to breathe.

How do I register for online participation?

There will be a zoom meeting in order to ensure possible participation for colleagues in different time zones and geographic loactions. An email witht he link will be sent to the email you register with on the morning of the event.

What is the purpose of the event?

As part of a professional doctorate at the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge, this event is an opportunity to reflect on the positives and negatives of the reality of academia. In a series of creative workshops, participants are asked to look for glimmers in their professional context.

Who can attend this event?

This event is open to all who work in ot adjacent to academia - from research students to professors, from library staff to HR, from coaches to counsellors. If you work in or around academia, take your place at the table and share your thoughts
