About this event

Join us on the 23rd of May for the launch of our new 4-Week Beginners Bachata Course at A2B Bachata Academy! No previous dance experience or partner required!

Bachata is a latin partner dance which originated in the Dominican Republic. Since its birth it has evolved into a fusion of multiple dance styles and is slowly taking over the world!

If you learn to dance bachata, you can go to any country in the world alone and instantly find a community of friends though social dancing.

Our 4-week beginners course consists of a total of 16 hours of classes (2 h classes every Thursday from from the 23rd of May to the 13th of June) taught by leading teachers in the bachata community. At A2B we aim to support your dance journey while immersing you into our community of bachateros and bachateras and giving you the tools and confidence to rock the dance floor not only at our weekly socials but also around London.

For more information find us on Instagram @a2b_bachata_academy or email a2bbachataacademy@gmail.com.

See you on the dance floor!

Frequently asked questions

Is there an age limit?

Anyone of any age can join, our current students' age ranges from 16 years old all the way up to working adults in their mid 50s.

Is it ok if I have never done any form of dance before?

Most of our students had never danced before joining A2B, we will make sure you feel comfortable and confident with every step.

What should I wear?

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in, ideally bring a set of trainers but there is no dress-code.

Can I come alone?

Absolutely! We will welcome you into our community with open arms! You will thank yourself for attending that first dance class in the future.

What is the difference between a leader and a follower?

In partner dancing, dancers seek to work together to create synchronized or complementary movements. The leader is largely responsible for initiating movement, whereas the follower's role is to maintain this movement. You are free to learn either role, regardless of gender, but please commit to one.
