Welcome to A Journey Through Colour!

Do you find using a variety of colours in your painting difficult and scary? Then this course is for you!

As a highly experienced, professional artist, I've simplified the vast amount of colour theory into a few key principles. These principles will guarantee you never struggle with colour again, freeing up your work and making your painting more impactful and enjoyable!

What to Expect:

In this first, one-day course, you will receive hands-on demonstrations, step-by-step lessons and plenty of painting time and enjoyment!

Who Should Attend:

Whether you're a painting enthusiast, a passionate amateur, or simply looking to improve your understanding of colour, then this event is perfect for you!

What to Bring

For health reasons, we’ll be working only with Acrylic or Water-Based Oils. You’ll need:

🎨 Paints (Student quality are fine, eg: System 3, Daler Rowney – affordable & great to work with). A minimum palette of 7 colours:

  • White
  • Cadmium Red
  • Magenta
  • Cadmium Yellow
  • Lemon Yellow
  • Cyan (or Cerulean)
  • Ultramarine Blue

(200ml or larger tubes are recommended so you can paint freely without worrying about running out!)

🖌 Other essentials:

  • A large water jar
  • A mixing surface (e.g., disposable palette sheets, an old tray with baking paper, or even cardboard plates)
  • Paintbrushes (both small & large, with varying widths). I recommend at least one wide brush of approx 3-5 inch ferule.
  • A standard Water Spray bottle
  • An old hairdryer (to speed up drying!) - not essential
  • Pencils and/or charcoal
  • Your chosen painting surface (acrylic paper, canvas, board, etc.), ideally A3 size or larger

💡 Need help finding materials? Let me know—I’m happy to assist!

Tea, coffee & biscuits will be provided to keep us going throughout the day. You will need to bring your own lunch.

A Relaxed & Fun Experience

This class is all about exploration, creativity, and enjoyment—no pressure, no expectations, just a wonderful space to learn and express yourself. Please shout if you have any further questions. I can’t wait to see what we create together!

SPACES ARE LIMITED, so book now to avoid disappointment.
