About this event

  • 1 day 6 hours
  • Sandplay therapy is a widely-used type of counselling, in which the healing process happens in a gentle, non-verbal way. It was developed by Dora Kalff based on the World Technique of Margaret Lowenfeld.
  • Sandplay and trauma therapy are proven to be especially effective in helping children express feelings, process traumatic memories and therefore improve their behaviour.
  • A very useful therapeutic approach with teenagers and adults who may prefer creativity therapy to talking therapies.
  • In brief, we use miniature toys to enable clients to process their traumatic experience. For example, with clients who have been sexually abused. It is a form of sand pictures which allows children and young people to work through even preverbal traumas in a free and protected space.
  • This introductory level sandplay therapy training course is perfect for:

Your work as a school counsellor, clinical psychologist, play therapist, wellbeing or other mental health professional.
