53 Death Cafe is a space where people come together, enjoy some drinks and snacks, and have an open, respectful, and supportive conversation on the subjects of death, loss and grief.
For the moment, our monthly conversations will be in small groups of no more than 8 people. There will be no set agenda, pursuit of a conclusion or course of action. We hope everyone will have the space to share, if they wish, their experiences, curiosities and imaginations about death and dying.
Please note
Death cafe, just like its name, is meant to be a casual space for us to listen, learn and share.
It is not meant as bereavement support or grief counselling. It is not a space to give or receive information about death.
Tickets and payment
Tickets are donation-based. Donations will go towards the drinks and snacks provided at the events and any surplus would help support future events hosted by 53 Death Cafe.
We do hope you can donate if you have the means. Although we understand not everyone is in a position to do this.
Location
As this event will be hosted at a private residence, the exact location of the event will be sent to you before the event.
However, to make planning easier, the location is about 12 minutes away from Royal Oak tube station or 10 minutes away from Warwick Avenue station.
It is on Sutherland Avenue and can be access by bus routes including 6, 18, and 36.
Street parking is available most of the time, although sometimes it takes a bit time to find one close by.
