This part of California offers a wide array of events and things to do. The scene is centered around walkable neighborhoods like Midtown and Downtown, where farm-to-fork restaurants often serve as the starting point for an evening out. From major concerts at Golden 1 Center to independent acts at Ace of Spades, the area provides a stage for both big-name tours and local artists.

• Start an evening in the R Street Corridor, where former industrial buildings now house lively art galleries and popular restaurants before a show.
• Catch stand-up comedy at Punch Line Sacramento or see a major touring act at the open-air Toyota Amphitheatre.
• Experience large-scale annual music festivals like Aftershock and GoldenSky at Discovery Park, or browse local goods at the year-round Midtown Farmers Market.
