Jane has been sewing ever since she can remember… from hand-sewing scraps from her mother’s projects to her first machine-sewn shirt when she was 14. Jane is now the owner and head seamstress of Smart Sewlutions, a small sewing and alterations studio in Washington, PA. She loves helping people feel and look their best through impeccably fitted clothing.Jane loves teaching, and brings a background in teaching K-12, community college, and college classes. She has taught courses in biology, structural biology, geometry, anatomy, life science, and physical science. Jane is thrilled at the opportunity to help others learn a fun and practical hobby— sewing is relaxing and creative!She believes that learning should be fun and every lesson goes better with a bit of humor or a meaningful story. Jane especially likes helping others understand how and why things work.
