The Regional Behavioral Health Policy Boards were created by AB 366 during the 2017 session of the Nevada Legislature. These Boards are tasked with representing their individual regions across the state, with seats on the Boards dedicated to different aspects of the state and local behavioral health systems, including: treatment providers, law enforcement, EMS, family and/or peers of persons with behavioral health challenges, criminal justice system representatives, public health, insurance, and others as well.Each Board is statutorily granted one bill draft request (BDR) each legislative session. The Boards build their BDRs to reflect the statitory changes they've uncovered over the interim that can improve state and local behavioral health systems.There are five regions that are represented by these Boards. The regions are as follows:Rural Region: Elko, Eureka, Humboldt, Lander, Pershing, and White Pine CountiesNorthern Region: Carson City, Churchill, Douglas, Lyon, and Storey CountiesSouthern Region: Esmerelda, Lincoln, Mineral, and Northern Nye CountiesWashoe Region: Washoe County onlyClark Region: Clark County and the southern tip of Nye County, to include PahrumpThe Boards are informally staffed by a Regional Behavioral Health Coordinator (RBHC) that serves the same region. The current RBHCs are as follows:Rural RBHC: Valerie HaskinNorthern RBHC: Cherylyn Rahr-WoodSouthern Region: Mark FunkhouserWashoe RBHC: Dorothy EdwardsClark Region: vacant
