Tom Haser is the founder of LocktoberfestDC. He volunteers on the National Mall in Washington D.C. through the National Park Service's VIP (Volunteers-in-Parks) program. The National Park Service named him the National Mall "Volunteer of the Year" for 2023, the year he founded LocktoberfestDC. Tom's inspiration for LocktoberfestDC came from his experience with Washington D.C. canal-related historic sites - namely, Lockkeeper's House, Washington City Canal, Chesapeake & Ohio (C&O) Canal, and the Alexandria Canal - combined with his love of beer and the tradition of Oktoberfest.
