I’m a Jersey City-based geriatric millennial and the founder of Ampersand & Ampersand, a rebranding studio that helps small and medium-sized businesses navigate change through rebranding and communication endeavors. (Think: branding, sales and marketing enablement, and go-to-market plans)I spent the first 18+ years of my career building in-house creative teams at global media companies like Condé Nast, Tripadvisor, and The Knot. In 2020 (the year unlikely to be known as the best year for a career pivot), I moved to become a Mary Poppins-style support system for teams. I saw the unique struggles of running a creative business in an increasingly broken system. Advice from coaches and industry experts was antithetical to my experience as a female, breadwinning, working parent in a subjective industry—so I’m on a mission to talk about that!I have tapped into my superpowers of aligning vision, voice, and visuals and can’t wait to help this community however I can. I say that I like to seek out the overlooked, creatively connect the objective to the subjective, and advocate for “real good” over “feel good.” My blend of cheerful nihilism and compassionate-capitalist business empowerment swings against toxic positivity without sacrificing effectiveness.I have many labels — Creative Director, Brand Strategist, Armchair Psychologist, Mom, ADHD — and each one supports my holistic approach to creative work which is rooted in finding the counterbalance. Reach out if anything that I mentioned here sparks something for you! ✨
