About the Presenters:

Tom Russell, Partner & Co-founder, Founders Entertainment

Tom Russell got into the live music world while still enrolled at Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business as a Management major and Marketing minor. Inspired by th
e rabid New Orleans festival culture, he joined local New Orleans’ promoters Superfly Productions in 2004 and remained a part of their family until December 2010. During his six year tenure with Superfly, Tom grew from the National Promotions Director position to the Director of Superfly Events Group, where he helped produce and project manage a wide array of large and small events, including the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, the Vegoose Music & Arts Festival, San Francisco’s Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival, the Superfly During Jazzfest Concert Series, the Life is good Festival, and various music marketing programs for some of today’s largest consumer brands. After learning from some of the best in the game, Tom decided to take his experience and expertise to another level, and he helped launch Founders Entertainment with the primary goal of producing live event experiences that are remembered forever and surpassed by none.

Stacey Wilhelm, Music Festival Programmer, SXSW

As one of the music festival programmers for SXSW, Stacey is part of a team that curates one of the biggest showcase festivals in the world. This involves coordination with artists, labels, booking agencies, management teams, other festivals, sponsors and more to create specialized showcases of musicians ready and eager to perform for international industry representatives and media outlets. Additionally, Stacey aids in forming marketing and messaging missions on behalf of the SXSW Music Conference and Festival.

Laurie Kirby, President, IMFCON/IFFS

Laurie Kirby, Esq. is currently the President and Chief Creative Officer of the IFFS (International Film Festival Summit) and the IMFCON (International Music Festival Conference) as well as Lineup Magazine. She is the strategic leader for these organizations, (and digital & print publication) which intersect leaders of film, music and the entertainment industry and hold annual conferences in the US and Europe. She is a frequent speaker, writer and thought leader at dozens of film & music festivals on all aspects of the industry. Laurie has managed over a half dozen film festivals and consults with festivals, filmmakers and event producers on the film festival industry.

Martina Wang is a marketing maven at Eventbrite with extensive marketing experience across the live events, technology, and consumer goods industries.
