Eventbrite Hires Matt Rosenberg as SVP of Global Sales and Business Development
San Francisco, Calif. – September 27, 2012 – Eventbrite, the leading online registration and ticketing company, today announced the appointment of Matt Rosenberg as senior vice president and department head for the company’s fast-growing sales and business development functions. Rosenberg is responsible for growing the global sales organization and leading the team in building on its vision to bring Eventbrite to the world.
The company announced in June that it hit $1 billion in gross ticket sales, and will exceed $600 million in gross ticket sales in 2012 alone. Kevin Hartz, Eventbrite CEO and co-founder, comments, “While we’ve seen impressive year-over-year growth, we are ready to take our sales organization to the next level. Matt’s leadership and experience will be key in unlocking new sales opportunities, while bringing a new level of strategy to our sales and business development around the world.”
In 2011, Eventbrite held nearly 460K events on their platform across a wide range of categories – from classes, networking functions and races to fundraisers and large festivals and concerts. “Eventbrite’s growth has been staggering, and I’m excited to help the team further penetrate the market across various categories around the world,” said Rosenberg, senior vice president of global sales and business development at Eventbrite. “Given the company’s momentum, strong leadership and powerful platform, I’m confident that we’ll maximize the enormous opportunities ahead of us.”
Prior to Eventbrite, he was Chief Sales Officer at Revana, and before that he headed up sales at ServiceSource where he was instrumental in growing the company from $65M in revenue to over $220 million, which helped the company with a successful IPO in 2011. Matt is a graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Law, and received a B.A. in political science from Indiana University.
