Eventbrite Further Cements its Leadership in the Music Industry

The Vans Warped Tour increased their use of Eventbrite’s innovative platform for 5 stops of the 2012 tour, enhancing sales and engagement among attendees.

San Francisco, Calif. – August 16, 2012 – Following the announcement of partnerships with Disco Donnie Presents and The Global Poverty Project, Eventbrite has just completed ticketing and entry management for five stops in the 2012 Vans Warped Tour. After testing multiple ticketing solutions in 2011, the organizers of the tour chose to use Eventbrite for all stops that were available to non-traditional ticketing providers. Eventbrite’s integrated social sharing tools contributed to impressive growth this year: sales increased in Pomona by 18%, and by 14% in Ventura compared to last year’s sales. The show in San Francisco sold out entirely, with over 21,000 fans in attendance.

In aggregate, Eventbrite has ticketed over 70,000 concerts, and issued nearly 5 million tickets to attendees of music shows. But musicians, promoters, and producers using Eventbrite aren’t only reaping the benefits of increased sales generated from fans spreading the word—they are also leveraging real-time sales updates, integrated tracking tools for marketing initiatives, and customizable data capture.

“With Eventbrite, we have unprecedented access to our data,” explains Kevin Lyman, creator of the Warped Tour. “We are very proactive in marketing, so being able to see where and when customers are buying their tickets is a huge help in reaching fans.” Lyman’s team also took advantage of Eventbrite’s integrated email tools when the venue for the Seattle tour stop unexpectedly changed. “We were able to send email updates to everyone who bought tickets, and Eventbrite offered fantastic customer support.”

Kevin Hartz, CEO and Co-Founder of Eventbrite, explains, “One of the reasons we’re so excited to be deepening our relationship with the Vans Warped Tour is because Kevin and his team are so focused on the fan experience. At Eventbrite, we’re also focused on putting the fans first—which includes eliminating lines, supporting paperless ticketing, and keeping fees low.”

In addition to the large music events produced by the likes of Disco Donnie and the Warped Tour, music fans can find smaller music events at local clubs and performance spaces on Eventbrite. And because it’s a self-service platform, musicians can use Eventbrite to take charge of their own ticketing, anywhere in the world.
